This register is the published evidence base of the Animal IVF Store technical references, built to the same standard as the IVF Store Clinical IVF Laboratory Procedure Manual: sources first, procedures second, so that every protocol statement in the references can be traced — by its S-number — to a named, rated authority on this page.
Each source was located and verified on 26 August 2026 by one of four verification methods, recorded per entry: Direct — the page or document itself was retrieved and its content confirmed; Registry — bibliographic details (authors, journal, volume, pages, DOI) confirmed against Crossref, Europe PMC, or WorldCat, the authoritative registries for published literature; Search-verified — existence and publisher confirmed via multiple independent records where the publisher blocks direct retrieval (common for Elsevier/Wiley journal homepages); Partial — a stated limitation remains, described in the entry's caveat. Chapter/article locators are given where directly verified (WOAH article numbers, ICAR Section 6, book chapters inspected); page-level locators are added only from direct inspection of the work. Anything that could not be verified was excluded or flagged — see §13 for the honest list of residual uncertainties.
TIER A Definitive
International standards, consensus bodies, landmark peer-reviewed work, or the recognized defining reference of its topic. Safe to cite as primary authority.
TIER B Strong
Authoritative textbooks, peer-reviewed reviews, and society standards with minor currency or scope limits noted in the entry.
TIER C Credible practical
Extension guides, practitioner proceedings, and commercial protocols. Real-world technique from credible operators — corroborate before citing as authority.
TIER D Supplementary
Background, historical, or instrumentation material. Use for context, never as sole support for a procedure.
Independently of tier, every entry carries a role: Evidence & standards (standards bodies, regulation, textbooks and peer-reviewed literature — the only entries the technical references cite as claim-level authority); Practical protocol (training manuals, extension sheets and proceedings how-tos — citable for technique when their tier permits); Discovery resource (journals, proceedings venues, portals and program hubs — places where evidence is found, never themselves evidence for a procedure); and Commercial instructions (supplier and operator materials — always identified as commercial and corroborated before use).
Where to start reading on each topic: the two or three sources this library treats as primary for each technique. Source numbers (S1–S94) refer to the entries below.

Pre-2024 editions number these chapters differently; cite the online-version date alongside the archived edition. Note for equine use: Art. 4.8.7 states trypsin treatment is "not always beneficial and it should not be regarded as a general disinfectant" and "may also have adverse effects on embryo viability, for instance in the case of equine embryos where the embryonic capsule could be damaged by the enzyme" — bovine and equine sanitary assurances are not equivalent (reflected in the references’ §4).
